Celebrating National Day Virtually
Every country in the world is unique, and each one is special in its way. Malaysia is unique due to its many races, religions, and cultures. Home to Malays, Indians, Chinese, Iban, Kadazan, and many other ethnic groups. Therefore, it is essential for Malaysians, particularly our children, to understand our nation better to live in harmony and peace.
In honour of National Day, Stellar Preschool held a Virtual National Day Celebration by examining the symbols that characterise the country during the morning assembly, such as hibiscus as the national flower and Malayan tiger as the national animal. The hibiscus flower’s vibrant colours symbolised Malaysians’ courage and energy. The flower’s five prominent petals reflect the five principles of the Rukun Negara.
The virtual celebration proceeded with a craft session where our children learned about the colours of our national flag, Jalur Gemilang, and the meaning of each colour. They also decorated their mobile-hanging craft with hibiscus, star, and moon. Teachers blasted iconic Malaysian patriotic songs as background music throughout the craft session to make the celebration even more exciting.
Through this celebration, our little Stellarians were able to understand more about the unique features of Malaysia and cultivate pride and patriotism spirit as a Malaysian at an early age. Furthermore, children learned about the values such as respect, love, and responsibility to be equipped as a Malaysian that lives together with love regardless of different races, cultures, and backgrounds.
